Flock 2.0 Beta Builds On Firefox 3 Improvements
Firefox 3 is nearly here, but we know that many monkey_bites readers prefer the social networking browser Flock, which is built on Firefox 2. However, there’s good news for Flock fans, the company has just released a new beta version of Flock 2.0 which incorporates Firefox 3 under the hood.
That means all the performance gains, bug fixes, speed improvements and smaller memory footprint of Firefox 3 will be in Flock 2.0.
There are a few new features and social networking enhancements in the Flock beta as well. One very nice new feature is the ability to see all your bookmarks just by pressing the star located to the left of the address bar. Similar features are available in Firefox 3, but because Flock integrates with del.icio.us, you can have all your web-based bookmarks just a single click away.
Other changes include adding the Revver video network in Flock’s Mediabar, so you can search, view, share, and subscribe to video streams from Revver.
The Flock team has promised plenty more is on the way in Flock 2.0. If you’re the early adopter sort, you can grab the latest Flock beta from the site.
