Blogging Coachella

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicks off tomorrow morning in Indio, CA. If you’re going, you can expect two days of rock n’ roll, thumping beats, sweltering heat, exotic food, hackey sack sessions, totally sick drum circles, and row upon row of porta-potties.

If you aren’t going, then you simply aren’t that cool. But not to worry, there’s plenty of blogging action that will help keep you up to date. The closest thing to an official blog is the Coachella community at Buzznet, where festival attendees can host photos, blog posts, and any other kinds of media that they collect.

Our friends over at imeem have their own Coachella blog, taking the festival by storm just like they did at this year’s SXSW conference. There are already scores of photos up from last year’s festival, and the community for this year’s fest is growing quickly.

Yahoo’s music site has a “Coachella Overload” playlist that features music from some of the 100 artists who are performing this weekend. Check out the Y! Music blog for the goodies available from Yahoo. The Yahoo Unlimited playlists require the Yahoo Music Engine, which is Windows-only.

If you want to pretend like you really were there, you can watch live streaming video of the festival at the AT&T blue room. Even if you totally miss out on the show and the live streaming video, you can just go the easy route and use the Coachella blog post generator.

The generator was intended to be used for last year’s festival, but all of your friends who are going this year will be so burnt out at the end of the weekend, they won’t even notice.
