Leah Culver’s Etched Laptop

Leah Culver’s etched laptop project is complete. You can view the photos of the finalized MacBook Pro case and the etching process at the Flickr page of one "ldanderson."

We’re not so sure that everyone has been following this story as closely as us, but we’ll bring you up to speed: Leah Culver is an interface engineer at the DIY community site Instructables. She’s been using the same old crusty G3 Macintosh computer for many years. She wanted to buy a fancy new MacBook Pro, but she found herself lacking in funds, so she decided to sell ad space on the notebook computer’s case to raise the money.

She sold the ads pretty quickly — we’re guessing it something to do with the fact that she’s cute and gregarious — and purchased the laptop. Today, she made good on her promise to etch the logos of her supporters into the case. No word yet on who is going to win the 250MB Zip Drive.

You can track Leah on Upcoming.org if you want to see her finished, ad-laden MacBook Pro in person.
