Zoho Creator 3 Adds Marketplace for Selling Your Apps

zoho creatorZoho has rolled out a new version of its Creator tool, which is designed to help you quickly build small, hosted web apps. As part of the announcement Zoho has also unveiled a new “marketplace” tool to connect businesses needing app with developers willing to build them.

Zoho Creator, which began life as an MS Access-like database app, has since morphed into a complete app building suite for businesses. The primary purpose is the provide an easy way to create apps that collect, store and sort your data. Currently Zoho Creator has a mix of apps from Zoho and those created by third parties.

The problem is that many businesses using Zoho Creator are looking for one-off apps that they need to turn around under tight deadlines. That’s the shortcoming that the new marketplace tools are designed to solve. Marketplace is especially nice for those needing a developer — just fill out the form telling developers what you need and post it to Zoho Marketplace. The good news for developers is that Zoho doesn’t charge commission.

Of course that means that many Zoho Creator apps will not be free, but there are some nice demo tools for checking out an app before you buy and Zoho provides a nice review system for weeding out the cruft.

For more information on Zoho Creator 3.0 and the new Zoho Marketplace, check out the video below which shows how to find, create and sell your apps.
