Widgets Live: Demo Roundup

Widgetslivelogo_sm_2

We were just treated to a round of “lightning demos” here at Widgets Live to end the day. Here are some of the best.

Feedburner, the RSS feed management company, announced a service that applies sticky branding to SpringWidgets. Once you brand your feed, your branding stays with the feed no matter where people post their SpringWidget. Feedburner also showed off a very cool animated feed-reading widget called Grazr that can be embedded with JavaScript.

Grazr did its own demo, showing off their free, sliding feed-grazing widget that can be embedded anywhere. Grazr looks pretty easy to code as well — all of the aggregation is done with simple XML forms. It even plays any podcasts and videos that are accessible via RSS.

Polldaddy. Free poll widgets! From Ireland! Self-destruct dates, custom styles via CSS and WidgetBox support. I’m looking forward to testing this one out.

Yahoo Publisher Network announced that all of its web page enhancement services are now available in one place. Flickr badges, del.icio.us linkrolls and other bling for your blog, all free for the taking.

Gigya, the new widgety web-based email service launched today. Using the Gigya web interface, users can embed widgets containing music, videos, games and even their MySpace layout into an email. The person who receives the email will be able to play back the video, song or whatever has been embedded if they can view HTML email.

Rock You. This widget service for social networks took off virally after it launched in November. The company says that its customizable slideshow widget is now the second-most popular widget on MySpace (after YouTube’s player). The slideshow widget is indeed pretty slick. Rock You also has other photo widgets that add text and digital effects to photos, both of which are gaining popularity.
