Interface and UI Issues

  • Whenever I view this site on my ipod touch, it crashes. This needs fixing ASAP because its very annoying, as it takes ages to load on my ipod. I try to avoid webmonkey on my ipod now.

has messed up the divs, well it still looks acceptable but its still messy viewed with: firefox 2

  • Tutorials > Programming > Build a Website with Flash and MySQL (Parts 1 and 2 ) fail to reload after toggling to the Discussion tab and returning to the Tutorial.
  • Create an Account pop-up > All buttons disappear, had to use firebug to track them up. FireFox 3

search results show a templated page with no actual content. I tried using Safari (version 3.2.1 (5525.27.1)) and the awful firefox (v3.08) -- both give me the same empty result --

These pages, for example have no content text in them at all that I can see: http://www.webmonkey.com/blog/Make_Your_Site_An_iPhone_App http://www.webmonkey.com/blog/Autoformat_Your_Website_for_iPhones_With_Intersquash

  • When adding a Favorite website on a profile, the prefix "http://" disappears from the box. When the user doesn't add these themselves the link is suddenly found within the Webmonkey-site instead of external. This could lead to many incorrect notices of a 404. The solution to this would be adding a check in the form handler to see if the prefix is present.

Tagging Issues

  • Go to Reference > Cheat Sheets. Even though the search is narrowed by tags "cheat sheets", it displays mostly glossary entries.
  • Go to Code Library > See All Code. Most of the articles listed there under the headings HTML, CSS, etc. are not properly tagged and do not appear when you go to Code Library > HTML, Code Library > Stylesheets, etc.
  • Tried adding a tag to document "Blank HTML Document". I edit the page. I type in a tag next to the Add Tag button, press Add Tag!, and the tag disappears. It does not appear possible to add the tag. (Using Firefox 2; MSIE 7 having same problem.) There appears to be a javascript error.

Commenting/Discussion on Pages

  • http://www.webmonkey.com/services/contactus does not load in Firefox3 RC1. Viewing with IE7 shows the contact form. Firefox3 gives the error: 'Webmonkey has moved! Oops! A web server error is preventing the page you requested from displaying. If you clicked a link somewhere on our site and were led to this page, please let us know so we can remedy the situation as soon as possible.'
  • On the blog: Viewing comments and posting comments not possible in Firefox3 RC1. I've tried turning Javascript on and off, to my knowledge I'm not running any weird extensions that might create such behavior. I've tried loading the page in IE instead and the comments show up, but clicking the 'post comment' link does nothing. I'm assuming there's supposed to be some kind of a submit form below the comments, but it doesn't show up.

XXXXXX Issues

All RSS feeds have encoding issues and cannot be consumed. "<" and ">" are converted to HTML entities, and the files are terminated early.

Broken Links

  • There is a broken link on David Thaus JavaScript Tutorial - Lesson 2. The "Image Swapping" example link named a [# basic image swap] doesnt work.
  • Don't know whether it's a Google Reader problem, but clicking the Permalinks of items in the RSS feed actually sends me to a link like that: "http://www.webmonkey.com/blog/where is stikipad" which produces a view of all the recent articles, instead of the actual one (in that case the one here: http://www.webmonkey.com/blog/Where_Is_StikiPad_ ). So either Google Reader strips the permalink of the underscores or something with the RSS feed is borked.

There is a broken link on Mulders Stylesheets Tutorial - Lesson 4 under the Background Images for Everything section. THere should be a backround image in order to hightlight some examples but the bg.gif link is broken

  • All the feeds are broken links for me. When I click on every link for the feeds I get this:
Internet Explorer cannot display this feed
This feed contains code errors.
  • The link on Mulder's Stylesheet Tutorial #4 linking to lesson #5 is broken

  • The RSS Feed for the Monkey Bites Blog doesn't seem to be working.
  • On the Codelibrary page there's a broken link under Editor's Picks for HTML hCard
