Quick IE6 Fixes (for Those That Still Support It)

IE6 Bug -- a bug on the IE iconYes, we know Internet Explorer 6 is a pain to support, but for many of us, it’s a reality. Luckily, there are some tried-and-true tricks for at least making your site look OK in that browser from 2001.

I haven’t found a single place that lists all the bugs (maybe there are too many?), but the three below cover some of the common ones. Some bugs are so big, they’re covered in all three. Everyone wants to fix the double-margin bug, right?

There have got to be bugs these pages haven’t covered. What’s your biggest IE6 pet peeve?

IE and Firefox market share over time

Both IE 7 and Firefox have seen an increase in their adoption rates over the last six months. Firefox added 6.2%, its largest six month gain since 2006. IE 7 almost kept pace, adding 5.2%, but IE 6 lost 11.6% during the same period.

At a rate of almost one percentage point per month, Firefox could take over Internet Explorer as the web’s most popular browser in 2009. What will life look like without IE atop the browser stats?
