What Is SurveySavvy?
SurveySavvy is a market research platform that lets people make money online by answering surveys and selling their data. It's free to sign up for, and it's a flexible and easy side hustle that doesn't require any skills.
Unlike most survey websites, SurveySavvy has both an active and passive option to earn.
For more active users, you can share your opinion by completing surveys in your spare time. And if you want to make passive income, you can download its SavvyConnect app on your computer or smartphone and get paid to surf the web.
How Does SurveySavvy Work?
1. Sign Up
SurveySavvy is available worldwide, and you can sign up for free if you're 13 or older. All you need to do is head to the website and enter your email to create an account. You also need to confirm your email address to finish signing up.
Once you're a member, you complete a brief profile questionnaire that asks you demographic questions like your education level, income, ethnicity, and household composition. This helps SurveySavvy match you with survey opportunities, and most paid survey websites do the same thing.
2. Complete Surveys
The main way to earn money with SurveySavvy is to complete surveys. The company emails you when new surveys become available, so there aren't always surveys on your main dashboard like you'll find with sites like Branded Surveys or Prime Opinion.
This is a downside if you want to answer surveys for a few hours straight. But on the bright side, surveys generally pay at least $0.50 to $1 or even more, making SurveySavvy one of the higher-paying survey sites.
Just note that surveys all have qualification questions you need to complete. This prescreener can result in disqualifications, which are annoying, and you don't get paid when you get disqualified.
This is how a lot of survey sites operate. Although SuveySavvy gives you sweepstake entries to monthly $10 cash giveaways when you get disqualified.
3. Use SavvyConnect
SavvyConnect is a passive income app that pays you for sharing your data. All you have to do is download the SavvyConnect app on your computer or phone and opt-in to share data about how you browse the web.
According to SurveySavvy's website, the application collects data about the websites you visit and advertisements you see. The company then uses this data for market research purposes.
You get paid $5 per month that you have the app installed, and you can install it on your phone, laptop, and table to make $15 per month in total.
This is over $150 in potential autopilot cash each year just for sharing your data. And you can always stack SavvyConnect with other apps that pay you to install them, like MobileXpression and Mobile Performance Meter.
SavvyConnect can also help you unlock more survey opportunities so you earn even more. The only downside is SavvyConnect is only available to U.S. residents at this time.
4. Refer Your Friends
SurveySavvy pays you referral bonuses if you invite people to join the platform. You earn $2 if someone you invite to the platform takes a survey. You also earn a $1 indirect referral bonus if the people you refer end up inviting people.
Overall, this program is a nice way for you and some friends to score free money while trying out a new hustle.
How Do You Get Paid?
SurveySavvy lets you cash out your earnings via check once you earn $1. This is a very low payout amount, which I'm a fan of. However, checks can take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks to arrive according to SurveySavvy, so getting paid takes a while.
Furthermore, SurveySavvy only sends U.S. checks. This means you need a bank account that lets you deposit $USD or a way to convert the currency, or your check is basically useless.
I like that you're getting paid real money and not just free gift cards. But if you live outside the United States, I suggest reading our post on the best PayPal survey sites for some more accessible alternatives.
Earning Potential
I’ve reviewed dozens of different survey sites over the years. And while SurveySavvy is legit and pays, it has lower earning potential than many gpt websites.
Most SurveySavvy surveys pay $0.50 to $1 or $2. Surveys can take up to 30 minutes to complete, and you need to wait for survey invitations via email to answer one. So, you might make $0 some months and a lot more other months depending on these invitations.
However, you can earn up to $180 per year if you install SavvyConnect on three devices. This strategy, coupled with diligently answering surveys, means you can potentially make $200 or more per year with this side hustle.
Is SurveySavvy Legit?
Yes, SurveySavvy is legit and lets people make money by completing surveys and sharing their data. And Tom used SurveySavvy when he was phone farming back in college to make extra money.
The main downside of the platform is that it's very U.S. focused. Payments are also slow. However, it offers a nice mix of active and passive income options and pays its users.
Pros & Cons

Cons:
- Payment via check can take weeks or even months

- Qualifications for surveys can be lengthy
- Users outside the United States may have very limited earning opportunities
- No sign up bonus
Other SurveySavvy Reviews
What do SurveySavvy members say about this survey website?
Reviews are generally quite mixed, and while many users like using SavvyConnect to earn passive income, many users also complain about slow payments.
Here are a few SurveySavvy reviews from TrustPilot where other users share their experiences:
- Aaron Schmitz says: “Good way to earn money by answering questions and giving opinions but they take longer to pay than ANY other survey company in the business. I cashed out $20 on 12/21, today is 2/7, still no check. I wrote them and they told me 4-12 weeks. They only send payment by check when every other company on the planet offers PayPal or e-gift cards either instantly or within a couple day's. 4-12 weeks is RIDICULOUS!”
- User Truth says: “I have been a surveysavvy member for about 4 to 5 yrs. They do send legit surveys, and really send via USPS mail/paper checks for payment. The only complaint is the 4 to over 12 weeks to receive your payment after requested. I have received all requests of payments just takes some time.”
- Elaine Gardiner says: “I have been with SurveySavvy for many years and it has been pretty good although I also find that it takes way longer than it should to receive a cheque for $10.”
The company has a 2.4 star rating on Trustpilot, and some people complain it's a scam because it takes so long to get paid.
In short, I think SurveySavvy can be a nice passive side hustle or addition to your survey site lineup. Just note the lengthy payment period and consider alternatives if you're outside the United States.
The Best Sites Like SurveySavvy
Since SurveySavvy isn't for everyone, I wanted to cover some other alternatives you can use to make more money:
- Nielsen Panel: A passive income app that pays $50+ per year.
- Branded Surveys: A leading survey site with a fast $5 payout minimum.
- Swagbucks: One of the most popular gpt sites in the entire world.
- Honeygain: This app pays you to sell your internet bandwidth.
- Pinecone Research: Get paid $3 for every survey you complete.
- Survey Junkie: Another popular cash survey site with more surveys than SurveySavvy.
- YouGov: Another survey platform that also has a data-sharing application.
Tom also has a YouTube video where he shares 15 apps and websites that pay you daily. If you want quick money and don't like how slow SurveySavvy is, these are much better options.
Customer Support
You can contact SurveySavvy via its contact form. You can also call the company at 1-888-588-4258 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
That said, some users report difficulties getting in touch with customer care to help resolve issues.
Is There A Mobile App?
SavvyConnect has a mobile app, but the main platform where you answer surveys doesn't. Also note that SavvyConnect is only available in the United States.
Is SurveySavvy Worth It?
I think SurveySavvy is worth it if you live in the United States and are willing to download SavvyConnect on several devices to earn passive rewards. In contrast, I don't think it's worth using if you live outside the United States or don't want to share your data.
Final Thoughts
As someone who has done online surveys that pay for many years, I’ve earned a great deal of free gift cards and free PayPal cash in this time.
Completing surveys for money is a legitimate way to earn extra cash, and while the pay isn’t huge, if you are persistent, the earnings can really add up.
That said, I don't think SurveySavvy is a top-tier website. It's a nice way to earn passive income if you want to sell your data. But slow payments and inconsistent survey availability are two massive downsides worth noting.
If anything, you can stack this site with websites like Swagbucks or Kashkick and just use it occasionally when you get a survey invite. Alternatively, focus on SavvyConnect since this can pay $15 per month.
