Adobe Handing Out Flex to Unemployed Developers

Adobe is giving out personal use copies of Flex Builder 3 Professional for developers who can prove that they are currently unemployed.

Flex Builder 3 Pro helps developers build Flash and AIR applications easier. Call it a handout, call it charity, call it a stimulus package, but never look a gift horse in the mouth; especially when the web application package normally costs about $700. That’s a pretty nice gift, if you ask me.

Adobe has something to gain from this. Beyond good publicity, some say you’ll never forget the company or people who helped you when you needed it most. Those who are unemployed and take advantage of a free copy probably remember it when they eventually get their next job, where they’ll not only know how to use program using the Flex platform using Flex Builder, but they’ll probably hit up their manager for the license fee (Adobe FTW).

The rest of us will have to chip in the $700 or download the free open source Flex libraries for the IDE of your choice instead.
