Google Notebook Adds Bookmarks And Labels

gnote.jpgGoogle Notebook has added support for labels. Each note now contains a new menu item for adding as many labels as you like and a new “Labels” column is displayed in the left hand panel, just like GMail.

Google Notebook also now offers bookmark integration, with page links stored inside an “unfiled” notebook and then automatically passed on to Google Bookmarks.

Google Notebook’s Firefox and IE browser extensions have been updated to support the new labels features as well. To use the new features just select some text or a web page to mark and click the star button.

Interestingly there still doesn’t seem to be any integration between Notebooks, Bookmarks and Shared Stuff.

Google Operating System claims that Google Notebook may be adding offline support (via Google Gears) in the very near future, which would make the service somewhat more useful though it still lacks many of the features you’d find in a full fledge bookmark/notes manager like del.icio.us or ma.gnolia.
