New Generator Tool Makes Blueprint CSS More Flexible

GridA while back we told you about the amazing Blueprint CSS grid framework, which functions as a generic layout skeleton around which you can arrange your custom web design elements. However, one of the shortcomings of Blueprint, as we mentioned at the time, was that Blueprint isn’t terribly flexible about the number and size of columns in your grid.

Which is why today we direct you to this handy Blueprint Grid CSS Generator. The generator makes it easy to spit out more flexible versions of Blueprint’s grid.css and compressed.css and grid.png files. No matter what your design scheme, be it 10, 20, or 200 columns, the generator can give you that flexibility via Blueprint.

To use the generator just put in how many columns you need, along with the width of the columns. Then you can fine tune it with margin width and overall page width until you get things where you want them. Hit generate code and you’ll have some very easy, cut-and-paste CSS code to get your design up and running.

Blueprint CSS is a fantastic tool for designers and this new generator solves its one major stumbling block.
