Is Survey Spotter Legit? We Tested It Out (Honest Review!)
Online survey sites are a dime-a-dozen these days. And one company that's been advertising everywhere is called Survey Spotter.
This site claims you can earn up to £25 per survey you complete. But after signing up and testing it out, I don't think it's very legit or your best use of time.
Our Survey Spotter review is sharing how this platform works and what some of your better cash survey options are so you don't waste your efforts.
Quick Summary
- UK-based survey company that's also globally availably
- Survey Spotter connects its members to other survey sites
- Sends out daily emails about available surveys, bonuses, and rewards
- Doesn't pay members directly and just redirects you to other companies
Is Survey Spotter Legit?
Survey Spotter is legit and technically connects you to online survey sites that pay. However, the site is very misleading and is just a middleman. It doesn't host surveys itself or pay members directly and is just a tool to find other opportunities.
In reality, this site just collects your email and then presents you with relevant survey sites you could sign up for. But it doesn’t do much more than that. It’s not a one-stop dashboard for collecting survey sites and facilitating access to diverse surveys from a single page.
The website also claims you can earn up to £25 per survey or £300 per month by using its services. But again, Survey Spotter doesn't pay you directly and this is somewhat misleading information.
Ultimately, Survey Spotter is just a survey aggregator with some clickbait claims. Plus, you can always sign up directly for different survey apps or sites and skip using a middleman.
What Is Survey Spotter & What Does It Offer?
Survey Spotter is an aggregation website that connects its members to more online survey sites.
This is similar to popular sites like SurveyCompare. And when you visit the site, you can sign up for free. From there, you complete a brief demographic questionnaire with information like your gender and birthday.
This information is how Survey Spotter matches you to relevant survey partners. You also enter your email so the company sends you even more offers and bonuses.
After you create your account, you then get a list of recommended survey sites to join. Each site has a bit of information about it, like its average payout and the type of rewards that are available. You can click on a partner and Survey Compare redirects you to its website to sign up.
Again, Survey Spotter isn't paying you directly. Instead, it redirects you to other ways to earn money online and gets paid for sending these companies referrals.
Which Survey Sites Does Survey Spotter Promote?
Here are a few of the most popular survey sites that Survey Spotters promotes:
- Branded Surveys
- Pureprofile
- Toluna Influencers
- Cashback
- Prime Opinion
- Maximiles
- Ipsos i-Say
- Inbox Pounds
- Valued Opinions
- Opinion Outpost
- GreenPathera
- YouGov
- Pinecone Research
In other words, you get a long list of leading sites in the UK, United States, Canada, and Australia. And these companies pay Survey Spotter for recommending them to new users.
Some of these sites, like Branded Surveys and Ipsos iSay, are ones I use and recommend too. But many of the sites are B-tier or worse platforms I don't recommend using. So, it's clear that Survey Spotter just recommends anything that pays it; at least that's my opinion.
Earning Potential
This is a hard one to pin down because Survey Spotter itself has 0 earning potential (zip, zilch, nada). It's merely a site that helps you find other high-paying survey sites you might make some money on. But all of these sites have totally different earning potentials.
For instance, Valued Opinions promises up to £6 per survey (roughly $7.60 USD). Opinion Outpost offers up to £2.50 ($3.20) per survey, and Prime Opinion offers £4 ($5). Survey Spotter then attempts to estimate how much you can earn and arrives at £300 a month if you complete a few surveys per day.
This is realistic, and I've made this kind of money with gpt sites back in college. But it can take more than just one or two surveys per day. And you're not earning up to £25 per survey with any of these sites, which is highly misleading and a red flag.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Free to sign up for
- Easy to use
- Emails you daily offers and bonuses you might be interested in
- Recommends some leading survey panels
Cons:
- Highly misleading earning claims
- Doesn't offer many international surveys
- You can just go directly to survey companies instead of wasting time
- May fill up your email inbox with loads of promotional emails
Better Alternatives To Use
I prefer going directly to the source when it comes to side hustles. So, I suggest using these Survey Spotter alternatives so you make money directly from a platform:
I've used all of these sites directly and have gotten paid. And I think you can realistically earn $1 to $10 per day with these sites without much effort.
Is Survey Spotter A Scam?
Survey Spotter isn't a scam in that it's a legitimate pathway to making money off of surveys. On the other hand, one could view it as a scam in since it presents itself as a way to make money by taking surveys directly with its website.
On top of that, it touts unrealistic claims about earning up to £25 per survey. In all my years of answering surveys online, I've never earned this much.
Overall, I think this website is largely a waste of time. You're better off using Google Search or browsing some reviews on WebMonkey or similar sites to find your next side hustle.
Who Can Sign Up?
Anyone can sign up for Survey Spotter. But as mentioned, a significant number of the survey sites are only going to work for UK and US residents. Different sites may have different age requirements as well.
Is There A Mobile App?
Survey Spotter doesn't have an app. However, some of its partners have mobile apps, so you can find ways to earn money on your phone.

Is There Customer Support?
There is indeed, but it’s email-based. However, that’s probably sufficient, because (again), you won’t be using Survey Spotter very much. In fact, you won’t really be using it all. The bigger question is how is the customer support on the survey sites it refers you to. If you have serious concerns about that, you can always look at Trustpilot reviews of these sites.
Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, sites like Survey Spotter can be helpful if you're brand new to this type of side hustle. But it's just a middleman and makes some pretty unrealistic claims.
In my experience, you're better off going directly to the source. And again, you won't be making $25 to $50 a survey or anything even close to that, so have some realistic expectations.
Hopefully, my Survey Spotter review helps you decide if this site is worth your time.
