What Is Panel App?
Panel app is a data collection app that's owned by Placed, a company that focuses on location-based attribution for sales and advertising efforts.
In other words, Placed is interested in helping businesses learn more about where their customers make purchases, when they purchase, and what factors influence their decisions.
Panel app is one way Placed collects data.
One you install the Panel app, it runs in the background of your device to collect information about where you travel. Like other data collection apps, you're compensated for selling this data back to Placed.
If you've ever used apps like MobileXpression and Mobile Performance Meter, you'll understand exactly what Panel app is all about.
Overall, it's a very easy way to make money on autopilot for sharing your location data and opinion with a market research company.
How Much Money Does Panel App Pay?
I've used Panel app for over two years, and on average, the app pays me about $1 worth of points every single month. This is fairly standard for other Panel app users as well, and it's a low-paying but simple passive income app that you can use.
It's also worth noting that there are 2 main ways to make money with the Panel app: data collection and answering surveys.
If you just run the app in the background of your phone, you earn roughly 22 to 33 Panel points per day.
It takes 1,500 points to redeem a $1 gift card, so this is a bit less than $1 per month.
So, right off the bat, if you don't do anything besides sell your data, this app is one of the lower-paying passive income apps around.
Now, if you answer surveys, you can often double your daily earnings.
Surveys typically ask you questions about nearby businesses you've traveled by, although surveys can also ask questions about your education, travel plans, and other demographic points of interest.
Note, this isn't the same as taking online surveys. Most surveys are 1 to 5 questions and there's no disqualification annoyances.
Ultimately, if you throw surveys into the mix, Panel app is probably a $20 per year app provided you are diligent with the surveys and leave the app running in the background.
How Much I've Made With Panel App
When I was phone farming, I ran Panel app on several of my burner phones for about two years.
In that time, I was still able to make about $30 from Panel app between the earnings from 2-3 accounts and a few referrals (more on this later). You can see my payment proof down below.
All of those emails are for $1 or $2 free Amazon gift card rewards.
It doesn't seem like much, and again, this is one of the lower-paying passive income apps out there.
However, if you're already running these sorts of apps, this is another easy $20 per year or so for your routine!
Panel App Requirements
If you want to join this mobile research panel, there's a few requirements to keep in mind.
Currently, to make money with Panel app, you must:
- Be at least 14 years old.
- Live in Canada, the United States, the UK, or Australia.
- Have an IOS phone (8 or newer) or Android device (4.0.3 or newer)
You create a Panel app account with your email and by entering your birthday. After you verify your email, you're ready to start earning!
Reward Options
Panel App recently upped the amount of points it takes to redeem rewards, which is pretty unfortunate. However, if you're patient, you can still redeem several free gift cards per year without any effort.
Currently, here are Panel app's guaranteed rewards:
- $1 Amazon Gift Card – 1,500 points.
- $2 Amazon Gift Card – 3,000 points.
- $5 Amazon Gift Card – 7,500 points.
- $5 Prepaid Visa – 7,500 points.
- $5 Starbucks Gift Card – 10,000 points.
Additionally, you can also spend your panel points on entering monthly sweepstakes. Common sweepstake prizes include higher free gift card amounts, gaming consoles, and prepaid visas.
In my opinion, you're better off taking the guaranteed free money but hey, maybe you're feeling lucky!

Is Panel App Legit?
Panel app is a legit passive income app that pays you for sharing your data. I've used the app for more than two years and have personally cashed out my points for free gift cards over a dozen times.
All of my gift card rewards went through, even if it took a week or two. It's also a fairly well-known app in the Reddit beermoney community, for better or worse.
The real question is: is Panel app worth your time?
Well, my stance is, once again, that it's an easy-add on app if you're already generating passive income with an old phone.
If you're just going to install Panel app on your main phone and aren't running anything else, expect $12 to $20 per year in free gift cards and nothing more.

Panel App Referral Code
I mentioned referral codes, and this is yet another way to make money with this app…or at least, you'd think so at first glance.
If you refer users to Panel app, you gain a percentage of the points they earn.
Panel app doesn't specify what percentage this is, but from my experience, even a few dozen referrals barely makes a dent in your earnings.
You also don't gain anything by signing up with a Panel app referral code or using someone's link, so I'm not mentioning it here.
Pros & Cons
If you're on the fence about using the Panel app or not, here are a few pros and cons to help you make the right decision:
Pros:
- A very easy passive income app to use
- Works on Android and iOS
- Low cash out requirements
- Variety of gift card rewards
Cons:
- No PayPal money or bank deposit rewards
- Low earning potential
- You need to be comfortable with sharing your data
Other Panel App Reviews
As usual, I like to turn to beermoney experts on Reddit whenever I review one of these apps.
This thread highlights the reality of Panel app. As you can see, this user explains how they've earned about $25 worth of free gift cards over a two year period.
The original poster of the thread earned an incredibly low number of points over the 2 years, and that's kinda the gist of the comment section.
And, as I mentioned, people are quick to point out that Mobile Performance Meter and S`mores are more lucrative apps to try.
However, people do earn free gift cards with Panel app.
Once again, I don't think there's any harm in giving the app a try, especially if you already have a burner phone.
Just know that there are better apps out there that you should prioritize!
Other Apps Like Panel App To Try
If you want to maximize how many free gift cards you earn per year, consider some of the following Panel App alternatives to boost your passive income gains!
Just note: none of these apps are going to make you rich.
However, there's no harm in mixing them into your routine to score some easy freebies each month.

Hopefully, this list of programs and apps like Panel App helps you make the most out of the world of passive income!
Final Thoughts
I decided to write this Panel app review because a decent number of people search for this term every month and I think there's some confusion surrounding the app.
Panel app is a painfully slow earner, and there's nothing you can do to change that.
There's no Panel app hack or extra method to boost your points. $12 to $20 per year is really the most you should expect from this app.
If you already have a passive income setup going, I suggest throwing this app into the mix! It's an easy passive side hustle, and free gift cards every month never hurt.
Otherwise, I recommend steering clear of Panel app and focusing on apps that pay more.
And, as always, if you want to make more considerable amounts of money, I suggest checking out my posts on:
That's all for this one!
I'll catch you guys in the next one.
