Is Lucktasic Legit? My Honest Review & Experience
If you've ever been to your local gas station or convenience store, you've probably seen people playing scratch off tickets in the hopes of striking it big.
These types of scratch-to-win games are a classic. But did you know you can also play these types of games with your phone from the comfort of your own home?
That's right: apps like Lucktastic let you play free scratch and win games to make money with your phone. And with 10+ million downloads and thousands of reviews, it's one of the most popular apps in this category.
But is Lucktastic legit? And can you actually win large cash prizes, gift cards, and vacations with this app like it advertises?
I spent a day testing out this app to find out the truth. And my Lucktastic review is sharing how this app works, the pros and cons, and what some of your better alternatives are.
Let's get to it.

What Is Lucktastic?
Lucktastic is a sweepstakes and scratch-to-win app for Android and IOS and is available for U.S. users.
The app has more than 10 million downloads between both stores, and it's one of the most popular scratch and win apps out there right now. In fact, the company claims that it's paid its members over $20 million so far.
According to Lukctastic, it's possible to win up to $10,000 instantly by playing with this app. Additionally, Lucktastic states there have been 1,000,000 winners to date and that YOU could be next!
Alongside cash prizes, you also have the chance to win a variety of trips or prizes, and this app is pretty standard as far as scratch and win apps go.
For example, one common prize the app advertises are trips to Universal Orland Resorts. It also promote $10,000 cash giveaways quite regularly
That's all fine and dandy, but how do you actually make money with Lucktastic, and is this app actually legit?
Is Lucktastic Legit?
In my opinion, Lucktastic isn't legit because it makes it seem like you can easily earn cash and gift cards by playing scratch tickets. In reality, the app makes it almost impossible to cash out. And it's impossible to know what the larger sweepstake odds are and if Lucktastic is even paying out its players.
I also tested out the app for several hours while watching TV, and I barely earned anything in that time.
Plus, I find all of the ads you have to watch between scratch tickets quite annoying. And I don't think the app makes it easy to reach $10 so you can ever cash out.
There are so many side hustles and beginner-friendly ways to make money online out there. So, in my opinion, Lucktastic isn't worth spending time on.
How Does Lucktastic Work?
I've personally used Lucktastic for a few hours while idly watching TV, so this is why I'm writing this review in the first place.
The app is very easy to use. If you've ever seen or played a scratch game, you're going to know how this app works almost immediately. Here's a breakdown of how Lucktastic works and what all the earning options are.
1. Play Scratch Cards
On Lucktastic, you can earn two things from using scratch cards: tokens, and cash:
- Token cards – Match 3 of a symbol on token cards to win X amount of Lucktastic tokens (usually a few thousand).
- Cash cards – Match 3 of a symbol on a cash card to win X amount of cash (anywhere from $1 to a few thousand).
You can cycle between games pretty quickly. After all, it just takes a few swipes to clear your scratch card to see if you have 3 matches.
After playing for a few hours, I only got 3 matches once, and it was for a $1.25 game.
There is a ‘Bonus Play' card on every scratch card, and this is how you accumulate bits of tokens over time.
As you can see from my screen, money and tokens you earn deposit in the top right corner of the screen, slowly accumulating in your Lucktastic account.
2. Download Sponsored Apps
Another way to earn tokens with Lucktastic is to download different games and sponsored apps. And, these download offers pay much more than your average scratch ticket, so the app is really pushing users to download different apps.
After scratch games, you're sometimes presented with a screen that offers you thousands of bonus tokens for downloading sponsored apps.
This is the same model many apps that pay you to play games use, like Mistplay or Rewarded Play. And, if you enjoy playing games already, this might look like a decent side hustle.
As you can see, these offers pay a few thousand tokens, whereas a couple of hours of scratching only earned me 431 tokens. There's also an entire section of the Lucktastic app that's just a sponsored app and services offerwall.
Additionally, downloading apps is actually a requirement if you want the app to become better.
For example, you can become a gold-level member, which unlocks more scratch cards and sweepstake entries, for downloading 7 apps and playing more than 200 scratch cards.
From being in a bunch of affiliate programs that have pay-per-download offers, I can tell you that Lucktastic is earning at least $5-$10 if a user makes it to gold.
When you factor in the Lucktastic also plays plenty of ads between scratch games, it might actually be a bit higher than that.
This model inherently means that their average user has to earn much less than $5-$10 for this company to be profitable. This is just how these sorts of apps work.
But what's troubling with this app is just how tough it is to cash out (more on that later) and the facade that goes on.
3. Answer Surveys
Answering short paid surveys is one more method to earn tokens with Lucktastic.
The app has a simple survey portal where you can complete additional surveys for tokens. But you don't earn many tokens per survey, so this really isn't a great use of time.
And, in my opinion, plenty of GPT sites like Branded Surveys and Kashkick pay way more per survey and actually pay cash. If you enjoy answering surveys for cash, stick with these types of sites and skip apps like Lucktastic.
4. Daily Bonuses & Referrals
The final way to earn tokens on Lucktastic is to consistently play scratch cards on the app and to invite your friends.
Lucktastic pays 1,000 tokens for every friend you refer. The app also uses a streak-based reward system to encourage you to use the app everyday. Here's how the payments work:
- Day 1 – 150 tokens.
- Day 2 – 250 tokens.
- Day 3 – 350 tokens.
- Day 4 – 500 tokens.
- Day 5 – Mystery reward (probably lackluster if I'm being honest, no mystery here).
Many reward apps pay better referral bonuses, so getting some free tokens isn't anything to write home about.
5. Cash Out
The last step in using Lucktastic is to cash out your earnings and tokens. And this is where I really have some problems with this app and think it's quite scammy.
For starters, Lucktastic doesn't give any sort of mathematical odds in their terms of services because, as they say, your odds depend on the number of people who enter a sweepstake.
This means it's impossible to know what sweepstake odds are for something like winning a trip to Disney World. But let me tell you, your odds are probably quite slim.
Additionally, you can't redeem tokens or cash very easily. For example, you need at least $10 to redeem a cash reward. But after a few hours of playing, I earned $1.25 but didn't keep earning cash.
As with sites like InboxDollars, I have a sneaking suspicion that Lucktastic hands out money pretty freely when you first download the app but that it gets mysteriously harder to ever reach $10.
Funny how that works!
Now in terms of gift card rewards, this is where tokens come in. The $5 gift card rewards start at 30,000 tokens, and scale to be slightly more favorable if you have the patience to accumulate tokens.
In my hours of playing this app while watching Tiger King on Netflix, I earned 481 tokens. The math doesn't look too pretty here. In fact, that's $0.0801. So, in other words, a few pennies per hour at best.
This entire formula means that without striking it big, it's not realistic to grind your way through to rewards.
Unlike other beermoney apps that pay small amounts of cash for your time, I don't think it's all too easy to ever cash out your tokens in the first place.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- The app is free to use
- You can save money by using this app instead of buying actual scratch and win tickets
Cons:
- Lucktastic spams you with lots of ads
- Tokens are almost worthless
- You barely earn any cash per hour so cashing out is nearly impossible
- Lucktastic doesn't tell you the sweepstake odds for larger prizes
Other Lucktastic Reviews
I tested out Lucktastic for a few hours, and I don't think this money-making app is worth your time.
But one other useful tip when researching money-making opportunities is to see what other real players have to say. And, thankfully, there are plenty of other Lucktasic reviews out there.
Let's start off with this gem of a Reddit thread that explains how sneaky Lucktastic is when it comes to actually paying out users. This user says:
“Lucktastic is complete garbage. It takes months of scratching the daily cards to get enough points for any gift cards you would care about, then when you try to redeem your points they are always “out of stock” until you download an unknown number of partner apps. Total waste of time.”
As you can see, this user states it's basically impossible to cash out, which is a major red flag for Lucktastic.
I'm not just cherry-picking negative Lucktastic reviews here either; it's the common theme in ANY thread you read. Here's another one where one user says it's basically impossible to redeem tokens and cash for anything.
Again, this isn't cherry-picking…this is the common theme you see everywhere on Reddit when people ask if Lucktastic is legit or not.
Here's another thread, this time with some slightly more positive news where one user says it took them about six months to get enough points for a $10 gift card.
It seems like some users can actually cash out. However, for the most part, it seems like Lucktastic is playing some kind of bait and switch game at a mass level.
Is Lucktastic A Scam?
I think Lucktastic is pretty scammy since it makes it seem like it's easy to make money with the app, while in reality, most people say it's impossible to cash out. And after testing out Lucktastic for several hours, I definitely think it's a very low-paying, frustrating app.
The app isn't doing anythig illegal. But you probably have to use this app for more than a month to redeem a single $5 gift card.
That part is honestly fine. I used to phone farm and I use plenty of other passive income apps that are slow earners as well.
The real problem is that for a lot of users, it seems like gift cards are miraculously always out of stock, or they simply can't redeem their points.
I can't confirm this since it hasn't happened to me, but if this is largely the case, then this app is definitely a scam. Either way, I don't think it's worth the download.
The Best Lucktastic Alternatives
After testing out Lucktastic, I don't think this app is worth your time. In fact, I think it's one of the worst apps I've tested for making money.
Thankfully, there are plenty of Lucktastic alternatives that provide better ways to earn quick money like:
- Branded Surveys: This popular survey site lets you earn free PayPal money and gift cards, and you can cash out at just $5.
- Grindabuck: Another popular GPT site that I've used since college.
- Mistplay: This leading gaming rewards app lets you earn free gift cards for playing new Android games.
- Rewarded Play: Another popular app like Mistplay with dozens of different gift card rewards.
- Cash Giraffe: Another fun Android gaming app with real cash prizes.
- Match To Win: A puzzle cash game that's available on Android and iOS devices.
I also made a YouTube video where I share some of my favorite games that pay PayPal cash you can check out if you want more alternatives.
These apps aren't going to make you thousands of dollars. But unlike Lucktastic, they're legit ways to make money online that are actually reliable and let you cash out.
Of course, you can explore more lucrative online ideas as well besides using apps like Lucktastic.
For example, something like online freelancing or even blogging can pay much more. But whatever you do, just make sure you have realistic earning expectations and know what you're getting into if you use Lucktastic.

Final Thoughts
I hope my Lucktastic review provides an honest look at how this app works, what my experience has been, and what the true earning potential is.
I think this app is pretty scammy, and I definitely won't be using it anymore. The fact it barely pays and makes it impossible to cash out for most people are the two dealbreakers for me.
You can try this app to see if it works for you. But in my opinion, plenty of other fun side hustles and online jobs are better use of your time.
